He trained in biochemistry and organic chemistry at the William Harvey Research Institute with Nobel Laureate Sir John R. Vane, FRS, and led significant research at the National Cancer Institute in Larry Keefer’s lab. As a founding member of Inotek, Dr. Southan has significantly influenced its evolution from a startup to its present development stage, overseeing the creation of several small molecule candidates now undergoing clinical and advanced pre-clinical studies. He has authored over 100 scientific papers and contributed to numerous book chapters and reviews.
