Generic Xalatan 0.005% (Latanoprost)

Generic Xalatan 0.005% (Latanoprost) is a medication used to treat high eye pressure/intraocular pressure (IOP) in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

How does it work?

This antiglaucoma drug is able to reduce intraocular pressure. The main active ingredient is bimatoprost, a prostaglandin. It helps to increase the outflow of intraocular fluid through the trabecular nasal mucous canals and other parts of the eye.

The drug starts working in 4 hours and remains active for 24 hours.

Indications

This medicine is used to treat:

  • increased intraocular pressure;
  • chronic open-angle glaucoma;
  • glaucoma caused by lens removal.

How to use Xalatan?
